Animate Coin Stack

Hey everyone,

I'm actually working on an animation where at some point a coin stack should be build up an down several times.
I've got a simple 2D graphic of a coin which I want to "duplicate" and put a little bit higher and a few pixel to each side by random or vice versa "delete" the most top coin. The coins don't need to fly or
Of course I could manually insert 20-30 coins and animate each one itself (i.e. Transparency) but this would be pretty cumbersome. So I wonder if there is any other possibility to do this.

I've got AE CC2017 and the only extra PlugIn I've got is the Trapcode Suite.

Kind regards

Kinda solved my problem.

I inserted a Slider Control into a Null-Object in my main comp.
Made a new comp with 25 coins and arranged them. Afterwards I used this expression on the transparency:
n = thisComp.numLayers;
if (comp("mainComp").layer("theNullObjectsName").effect("theSliderControllersName")("theSlidersName").value > n - index) {
transform.opacity = 100;
} else {
transform.opacity = 0;

Now I can build up/down my stack with one slider.
Hopefully this will be useful to someone in the future.

You could try this expression in your first layer, then every time you duplicate the layer, it will be slightly offset on the y axis:

(change the "4" to change how much the layers are offset)

That obviously only solves a small part of your question. Ideally you could link the number of duplicated layers to a Slider Control, but I'm not sure how to do that.

Alternatively, it seems like a combination of the Array script and the Rift Script may help also speed up the process.
