sudden pure white flash effect

hey guys
there is a question.
some mouth a go i watched a tutorials about sudden white flash,and it was so cool and handy,it was like this:
you make an adjustment layer put your marker at the song beats and with an effect that i forgot the name and what was that,anytime courser reach the marker automatically it flash,a pure and nice flash,but i forgot the name of that effect,and i need it,if anyone knows that plz tell me.
this effect was pretty small one just some simple adjustment,but i just need its name,tnx anyone who help

Anything that responds to layer markers would require an expression to work as you describe, but you can achieve a flash with an effects like Exposure. A white solid (set to the Add blend mode for more realism) could work, too.

There are all sorts of ways to do this. I like to animate a combination of the Glow and Box Blur effects on an adjustment layer to do this. It's 16 frames long at 59.94. Whenever I need it, I duplicate the adjustment layer & move it wherever i need it.

So there's another way to do it. Plus there are many more.
