Time indicator jumps ahead
on Sep 21, 2016 at 4:21:34 am

I'm trying to create a video loop to match a piece of audio. Usually I can just change the duration of the video to half the audio length, duplicate and reverse it to loop. For some reason I can't time stretch this video properly. When I choose a duration of 05:59 it changes this to 06:29. I can't even make a new composition of 05:59 without it changing. After trying many work around's I noticed that when I scroll through a composition my preview time readout goes from 05:29 to 06:00. I opened an old project and going frame by frame the time jumps from 05:24 to 06:00. It's even happening in premiere pro, it jumps from 05:29 to 06:00. I've closed and reopened both programs and rebooted. Any ideas?

What frame rate are you working at? It seems to me you are describing various frame rates 05:29 to 06:00 would be a 30fps (29.97) and 05:24 to 06:00 would be a 25fps.

Sorry for slow response. Had to go out of town for work. The footage is 30fps. Based on a post in the adobe forums I've tried changing it to 29.97, 23.976, and 25 but it still jumps ahead at around the same time.

Got this from the adobe forums so I think I've figured it out now. Thanks for the help.

"yep, that's the way it's supposed to be. here you are looking at time code of 25fps - it means that every 25 frames, a second passes. so 05:25 is 06:00".
