how to: "camera lock" effect? h-e-l-p

Hi everyone,

I need some technical help on how to:
I have an idea for a video, which is shooting someone playing the guitar and adjusting some anchor points(say his hand) with a green dot, and lock the dot or any other object with the green dot to a specific position in the comp. which will cause the object to stay where i wanted it to be, and the video will follow it.

I like the ball bounces -- the ball never hits the floor. The physics of the bounces are close, but not spot-on. Not to mention that the whole thing runs slowly. If you ask me, there's a lot that's fishy going on in that shot.

Where'd it come from? Who's trying to snow you into thinking they tracked that ball? I don't think they're being 100% forthright about what went into the shot.

With that much motion, the ball was probably manually tracked frame by frame and then the shot stabilized around it, enlarged so that the the frame edges are not showing.
