Video Rendering
on Jul 25, 2016 at 10:05:04 am

Hello, :)

I made a project in 4K resolution. I wanted to render it in 540p. Created a new composition(960x540) and scaled my project to 25% to fit everything in. When I render it in MP4, it takes same time as 4K. But final quality is really bad...

What does that mean? How can I fix that if that's a problem?

Thanks!

Best regards,
DADA

With this setup, Ae is calculating the entire 4K frame, then scaling that down to 25%. If you want to render directly to 540p, add your 4K comp to the render queue. By default, Ae will set the render settings to Best Settings in the render queue. Click on Best Settings and set the resolution to Quarter. Be aware that this may impact the look of some effects.

What is your process for rendering to MP4? In what way does it look bad? Scaling down does mean throwing away a lot of detail, and some content is not well-suited for this.

Thank you for your reply, :)

"In what way does it look bad?"

It's to much pixelated. But when I render one frame(JPEG) in 540p, it look good...

What does that mean?

Thanks again!
