How can I improve this rotoscoping?

I've got rid of the background in a couple of interview clips so that I can add some blur to the background to give it a sense of depth of field.

I want to pull the mask out a bit so some of the fine details like his eyebrows come back in, but doing that too much means the non-blurry background comes into view:

Are there any tricks I can use to get a better result?

Also is there anything I can do to fix the changing lighting? He gradually gets brighter and darker as the video goes on.

I wouldn't worry too much about losing a couple of eyebrow hairs. If you use Rotobrush for the chore, Refine Matte used in conjunction with it works pretty well.

Don't know about the exposure changes. As long as they don't happen during a sound bite you want to use, you should be okay -- just fix the bite.
