how to remove the dolly track from footage
on Feb 22, 2013 at 7:32:53 am

Hi,

I just want to ask for any help or advice on how to remove this dolly track from the footage. I have lots of footage that has this dolly track and i really don't know what to do. I tried rotoscoping it using the rotobrush but i failed, then i tried using the stamp tool for every frame but it got worse and messier. I really need to accomplish this because this is a huge project for me. any advice will be much appreciated. thanks in advance!

Generally speaking, you should shoot where the dolly track isn't, but when it has to be in the shot, I would suggest using AE's camera tracking, and then cutting a graphic that you create in Photoshop, which replicates the shiny tiled area the track runs along, then matching it in with the tracking data.

Okay, I will try that.
Thank you very much for the suggestion.
