Freeze a frame of video
on Apr 30, 2016 at 9:07:16 pm

This feels like a bit of a "duh" question, but I just don't see the solution. I need to freeze the final frame of some video and hold it for 3 sec beyond the actual end of the footage. My work-around was to render that last single frame and drop it in as a layer. It works, sorta', but the images do not exactly match. Is there a simple smart way to do this?

So split the layer right where the final frame is, and then freeze frame it. Unless I got that wrong, it should work....

Or you can use Time Remapping on the video layer to make the freeze. Read up on it -- you'll have to wrap your head around it before you're comfy uding it.

Wouldn't splitting the layer be easier?

A split layer is just a split layer. It doesn't imply any effect on time. It just makes 2 layers at a point on the timeline. It can be really handy, but it automatically stop time.
