big numbers in Effects/ levels panel?
on Dec 30, 2015 at 6:12:55 am

I am doing a tutorial using the levels effect in AE CC 2015 Late December 2015 update version.

Oddly instead of a percentage it is showing default input and output white as 32768.0 (?)

I have tried various ways to reload the effect but keep getting the same thing. What is going on.

I am getting tired of constant changes that break the way AE and other Adobe programs work. It is both tiring and dysfunctional to users. We have enough to worry about without things that worked for us, familiar things, always being messed with.

32768 is the normal white value for a 16-bpc project. As opposed to 255 for 8-bpc and 1 for 32 bpc.

The real ANSWER I needed came much later in the tutorial:

The control for the color quantification read out is not in preferences where I had looked.

It is in the "Info Panel" panel control.
