Rotate in circle and maintain the alignment of an object in the circle
on Dec 10, 2015 at 7:01:22 pm

Hello. I am new to this forum and amateur in After Effects. I would like to know how to rotate an image of gun roulette with a vinyl inside that I have made while maintaining the needle of the vinyl in the same alignment while spinning (I mean I want the needle not to spin with the gun roulette. Sorry for my English. I would be very greatful if someone could help me.
P.s Below you can see the image.

If you want it to happen automatically, you could use expressions to tie the rotation of the record with the needle to the rotation of the gun barrel. Then simply add *-1 to the end of the expression.

Michael thank you very much for your response but I 've got some more questions on how to achieve that. Do the needle and the gun barrel have to be in separate layers (different images) or in one? Is there any video tutorial on how to do that?
Thank you in advance!

You should watch some basic tutorials of AE. Any on them will help you understand how to do that.

Try for "rotating layers" and "masking layers" and "adding expressions".
