Import/Export text layers in csv
on Nov 9, 2015 at 10:14:51 am

Hi! I need for a couple of projects to export a several text layers from After Effects, and then modify them and import it again.

I know that aescripts has a couple of very good scripts to do it, but I need it only for a couple of times, and I think that is spensive to use only two times.

Someone know another way to get this import/export?

Thanks in advance!

How? Do you mean that copy every text and paste into the text layer?

[Luis Garcia] "How? Do you mean that copy every text and paste into the text layer?"

I could probably be more helpful if you could share a little more detail about what you have and what you're trying to get.

Hi Walter! I am very sorry, you are right... I will try specific a little more...

I have a project with 50 text layers and I have to create three or four more like this but with another texts... The texts layers have expressions, and I would like a system to replace the text importing a csv file or txt file...

I know that this script will do but I think that is not necessary to spend this money for doing 4 compositions...

Any idea to do it?

A lot of thanks Walter!

I think your best options aside from buying the script that does what you need are to write an expression that parses the full block of text, paring it down for each of the 50 individual layers you need, maybe reformatting a bit and using a text animator with the range selector based on "Line" to reveal only what you need, or rolling up your sleeves and doing them by hand.

Thanks Walter... I think that the easiest way is to buy the plugin.. I will have to think about it, because I am looking for another ways and seems that there is no solution....

A lot of thanks!
