Multiprocessing not working - GPU not available...

Hi, and thanks in advance for any help!

I am no longer able to get AE CS6 to render utilizing multiprocessing (MP). And rendering is slow as a result.

I am working on an i7 Quad Core, 2011 Macbook Pro, running Yosemite 10.10.4,
with 16gb of Ram, and an ATI Radeon HD 6750M, OpenGL Engine

My understanding is I cannot enable CUDA with my video card, but shouldn't I still be able to utilize MP through my GPU?

However, I am currently unable to get MP working, even though I was able to do so in the past, (certainly when running OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion.)

In AE Pref>Previews>GPU Information, it says, "(GPU not available - incompatible device or CUDA driver)"
In AE Pref>Memory>After Effects Multiprocessing, it says, "Actual CPU's that will be used: 0"
Below you'll also see: "RAM allocation per background CPU: 0.75 GB"
In the past when this worked as I increased or decreased this value, AE would adjust the "Actual CPU's that will be used," accordingly. Now it stays at "0" no matter what I do.

How can I get this valuable feature working again!

Is your AE CS6 up to date? The most current one is 11.0.4.

The GPU has nothing to do with multiprocessing.

Reserve RAM for other applications. 6-8 GB of it. Close other open applications to free up available memory.

Reserve more RAM for each background process. This will cut down on the total number of CPUs you can use, but it will let you use each more effectively and likely decrease your render times.
