Rendering Speed on AE and AME on my specs
on Sep 29, 2015 at 9:46:25 am

Hey guys,
My system specs are as follows.

1.Intel Core i7-4770K @ 4.5GHz overclocked
2. Nvidia GTX 750 Ti
3. 4GB x2 (8GB) Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz Ram (i know its low)
4. MSI Gaming 3 motherboard
5. 1 TB seagate Hdd and 2tb Seagate external HDD.

My question is that, My specs aren't the best but I have compositions to render which are about 40 seconds long (approx.) My current rendering time

seems to be about 1 minute. I've tried rendering both within AE and Adobe media encoder. A simple H.264 (MP4) file of 2MBps bit rate is quite enough

for me in terms of quality.

Now please tell me what can i do improve my render time drastically ?

1.Should I get 2 SSD's , 1 for my os and AE and the other to export my renders ?
2. Should I get 2 sticks of 8GB x 2 RAM to increase to a total of 24GB RAM ?
3. Will only getting a Mac pro with those AMD firepro's vastly increasy my render times ?

My requirement is short 30 seconds to 1 minute compositions but quantity is 10,000 videos or even 50,000 videos.

Firstly, 1 min of render time for 40 seconds of video isn't bad at all.

Next, what is it exactly that you're doing with these 10,000 videos? Maybe there's a better way.

More RAM lets you use multiprocessing in Ae CC 2014 and earlier to render multiple frames at the same time. (See this recent post of mine for more on multiprocessing [link].)

However, multiprocessing does take a little while to initialize at the beginning of each render, so on shorter renders like yours, the speed gains during render on just a few cores may be offset by the initial delay.

Hey,Thanks a lot. I've figured out the perfect solution for this. All i need is to export the comp into an Premiere project and then render that via media encoder... Bam... Previously it took 1 minute 10 seconds to render the 47 sec. composition, now all it takes is 10 Seconds ... :O

Try it with a fresh comp that you've never rendered. I think that the comp you're testing with has probably been cached.

Was this the final solution for you?
