AMD Radeon R9 can work with After Effects?
on Sep 23, 2015 at 10:30:03 am

Hi,
I'm working with the Adobe Suite, specially on After Effects. I bought a new computer with good hardware but the only drawback is that the graphic card is AMD Radeon R9 270, when I've seen that Adobe likes to work with Nvidia cards and CUDA.

I've been doing stuff with 3D Ray trace and it goes fast, but I wonder if is better not to relax and get a Nvidia Card, and if Trapcode Particular is something won't work with this.

Here's the official list from Adobe:

Here's another list, which can be very useful if you want more detail, or have an older version of AE:

As far as Particular goes, it doesn't appear to rely on the video card at all for rendering:

The video card is not as important as your RAM and CPU in After Effects. The Studio 1 site has a lot of good information on how the video card (especially NVidia cards can be useful.
