"Science notes" in After Effects

"Science notes" in After Effects

I have very little knowledge of After Effects since only recently I have given it a chance. I'm looking for a "scientific note" effect, that's basically this line attached to an object with some description.

Here's a static image example I made sometime ago link

I would like to be able animate this line so that when the object on the video is moving, the line will as well.

That's not the toughest place to start with AE, but you aren't starting out in the shallow end of the pool. Check out this tutorial:

, it uses the beam effect and motion tracking, the two things you will need for creating the effect you want.

Then you might want to search for "motion track" "text" "object" tutorials, if you need more help. Finally, I would strongly suggest you check out the resources Todd Kopriva has compiled for beginners.
