Adobe After Effects Pre-comp cropping problem
on Mar 23, 2014 at 5:14:16 pm

First time, long time ;)
Can anyone tell me how to maintain the width or height of (for example) solid layers turned into basic shapes when I pre-comp them? Specifically with the width, I'm stretching the shape wider than 1920px to go beyond the edge of the frame, then when I pre-comp, the extra width is cropped back to 1920px. I'm rotating on the X axis, and I can see the left and right edges as the perspective turns away from the viewer (not good).
Any thoughts?

You may want to enable Collapse Transformations [link] for that precomp layer.

When Collapse Transformations is off, the precomp is rendered and the flattened render is presented to the containing comp. When Collapse Tranformations is on, each layer in the precomp is essentially pulled through individually and composited into the containing comp.
