Images will not respond to lighting
on Jun 17, 2013 at 11:45:57 am

I have some 2D images set to 3D. They will not respond to the lighting i have set. The light is infront of the object but it just stays black.

See the images below. You can see the black square that has "Accept lights" enabled and the other setting set. The light is below it in the layers panel.

Thanks

Seeing the light in the timeline and it's settings would help as well. One thought off the top of my head, does the light have a fall off? If so, remove it and see if that helps.

Also, can you show the 4-way split of the screen - perspective, top, front, right.

With 3D items, the position of the layer in the stack does not matter - it's about making sure the light is placed in front of the layer in 3D space. If it's on the same plane or on a plane behind the image, then the light wouldn't hit it at all.

You need to make all images 3d and make them have the ability to accept lights. Try putting a 3d light in comp.
