trouble rendering illustrator layers in aftereffects
on Dec 21, 2012 at 9:13:47 pm

Hey everyone I'm in a spot of trouble. I have a video with a bunch of 8-bit style layers like old nintendo game characters. The layers are illustrator files and I have them continuously rasterizing and the quality set to...whatever is not the default I'm not sure what it is (the slash next to the continuously render button I have clicked so that it appears as a dotted forward slash, please excuse my ignorance). Anyway it looks great in aftereffects and when I prerender it, but when I output it to a quicktime the layers get little gray borders lines around them. I've tried animation codecs, sorenson 3, AIC but it keeps coming out that way. I think it might have something to do with the footage interpretation but I'm not sure. If anyone knows what I'm rambling about and could help I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,
Craig

The dotted backward(not forward)slash means that it is in Draft Quality.

Change it to Best Quality(Forward slash) as it was earlier.

Also check that you are rendering with Best Setting and Full resolution.
