I have been a long time in creating my 1st post, having been using these forums for about 6-7 years I have finally encountered something that is driving me nuts and has been on and off for years. I have tried many numerous fixes, shooting on different cameras ant different frame rates and shutter speeds, interlaced or deinterlaced, always the same problem:
I have long tracking shots moving around a gallery past various bots of artwork, where the camera moves fast past an object and the motion blur thereby increases I end up with a horrendous "juddering" effect on the edges as soon as i import it into editing/compositing software.
The funny thing is if i look at the raw footage in a player like media player classic or vlc then it looks fine, there is motion blur on the moving object as one would expect but thats quite passable, but as soon as i import that blur changes to this horrible judder.
codec is usually sony xdcam, mpeg4 or h264 but i dont think it matters im sure its to do with how the software decodes the footage, i.e. mpc player is doing a better job than AE.
Could anyone shed some light on this and answer a problem that has been plaguing me for years
yes I having been having this problem also, is very annoying and i have spoken to other people who have experienced the same thing. I will be checking this thread as I hope someone on these forums has the experience or knowledge to fix this issue.
