[Chip Hess]"I have created a custom size for a multi-monitor trade show display. Created 7680 X 1080. I need to output 1920 X 1080, squeezing the image. It is then unsqueezed by the show techs for proper display."
4:1. That's some serious anamorphism. You should expect ugly stair-stepping on the displays on rounded shapes or diagonal lines.
[Chip Hess]"The glitch is I set output to resize from 7680 X 1080 to 1920 X 1080, per the tech's instructions. However when I render I am still getting the full size, rather than the specified 1920 X 1080."
How have you set the output to resize?
I see two easy options:
Create a 1920x1080 comp. Drop your 7680x1080 comp within the 1920x1080 comp, then hit Ctrl-Alt-F on a PC (Cmd-Opt-F on a Mac) to transform the layer to the comp size.
Add the 7680x1080 comp to the render queue, then modify the output module. Check the Resize box, uncheck the maintain aspect ratio button, and manually enter 1920x1080 for the size.
