Rendering a high quality Flash CS5 supported video using After Effects CS5
on Nov 8, 2011 at 11:06:13 pm

Hi guys, can you please help me with this, I made a 15 seconds animated presentation using after effects cs5, but I'm not happy with the flv or f4v quality, can I render a lossless flv/f4v? or is there any other formats supported in Flash CS5?
I tried the lossless quicktime render but flash can't open it, I almost tried 10 other combinations, most of them are heavy in size (for a 15sec composition) and not supported in flash cs5. I really need help!

Taking everything else as it is, a lot depends on the bitrate that you've chosen. Try cranking up the bitrate and reduce the Keyframe Distance (this increases quality but increases filesize).

Thank you for dropping by. What values for bitrate & keyframe.D do you think are ideal for a lossless FLV rendering? I really need the highest quality, the same quality I see on the stage

FLV/F4V are not lossless CODECs. If you don't know what bitrate to set, then start with the default which is 6MBPS. Then increase it if you need to. Take note that if the bitrate is too high then users will have problems playing the movie at its full frame rate.

I would render a lossless file out of AE and use the Adobe Media Encoder to make the flash video. The Adobe Media Encoder can do two-pass encoding which helps get better picture quality in manageable file sizes.
