Just doin the usual house keeping / Checking..

Atto raid app shows raid set as degraded :-/ all drives are ok though.. green dots.. non degraded.

Never seen this before? time for a reformat? rebuild? or a sign of drives on way out ?

Cheers

Si

I will contact you privately.

Stop using Seagate drives, by the way.

hah

I think "don't use Seagate drives" has now replaced "have you tried restarting it?" as troubleshooting step 1 here in the SAN forum.

Hi there!

We're having exactly the same problem that started today! Actually the Raid came up, after a few triees, but it's stated as "degraded" we have about 7 teras of material on it so, I'm a bit stressed about losing it !

What are we supposed to do at that point? rebuild and weep? Save everything on another Raid and reformat?

On this one we have 8 2go Seagate (yep I heard the "don't use seagates" :) but why actually?

So if anyone had a hint on what to do it's be great!

Hi there!

We're actually having exactly the same problem this morning, as of this morning the raid started by not mounting, finally it did, but in the atto config tool it's stated as "degraded" and one of the disk is showing as unavailiable.

We have access to the raid. It's a 12to raid with 9to of shot and edited material. I'm a bit stressed about losing the material.

Should I rebuild it? Or first make a mirror copy on another raid?

Yes I read the "Do not use Seagate" there are 8 of them in the machine, why should I not, if I may? :)

Thank you for any feedback on that matter!

MK

just finished editing a concert. I am running a 18b raid 5--- the problem?
my raid status shows degraded but yet all drives are showing up green? that is weird. i first replaced the bad drive and began to rebuild it, after it was done status was showing online. next day on boot it came giving me a degraded status? what the heck? all my material is there, all my drives have a green light, yet atto configuration tool shows degraded. please help!

if you have an ATTO card, contact their tech support. They're awesome and will walk you though any troubleshooting.
