Is there a way to get the HPX 2700 to show the last clip rather than the first clip after the unit has been powered down? It can be a long process scrolling through all the clips on a 64G card. After recording it stays on the last clip but returns to the first clip after powering off. On the HVX 200 you could hit return and then it would be cued at the last clip.

I haven't tried this and my 2700 is out of town, but go into the thumbnails menu and select "playback resume". This will at least get you back to the last stop position on previous playback. Don't know if powering down will affect this though. My HPX170 has "last clip", but I don't see it on the 2700, only "record review".

Thanks Jeff,
But it doesn't help. It seems like the 2700 can't do it. Strange as most other file based cameras Sony and Panasonic can.

I would expect the 2700 to have the same clip management features as an HPX2000, 3000 and 3700. Which cameras are you referencing?

I don't know about those models as I only have the 2700 ( have used 3000 but didn't notice at the time).
The small P2 cameras can do it, so can the Sony Xdcam and EX cameras. Not really complaining just checking I have not missed something in the setup.

This is a problem when you get more that 100-200 clips recorded...

My workaraound is to record 1 second of colorbars when I power on. Then, when I go to thumbnail view, it goes to the bars clip (now the last clip in the window)

Its easy enough to delete the color bar clip if you have time, or ignore the colorbar clips when transferring the footage
