DVX 100a Image really blown out
on Apr 21, 2009 at 2:47:03 pm

Hi,
I've been using my DVX 100a for a few years now with no problems.
But recently when I went to shoot, the image was really blown out.

I prefer not to use the ND filter, so I rarely have, and
I have had the video get a little hot, but nothing like this.
It's across all scene files.

Something just isn't right, I've never seen the image this blown out before.
Has anyone seen or heard of the DVX shifting it's iris settings?

Settings:
24p standard
No shutter
Both auto and manual Iris
and I reset the scene file setting.

Thinking of the big reset button, does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks
Rob

Here are stills,
No ND filter, and 1/8th ND filter used.

Thanks

When shooting at something really bright and not using the filter you can damage one if not all 3 CCD chips and possibly the main camera board which would cause this problem.

Yeah why would you not use the ND filter- that's what it's for is shooting outdoors. There's no downside other than not getting overexposed shots if that's a downside.
