Operation Lever not working properly
on Feb 14, 2009 at 4:35:12 pm

I just got my DVX-100B last fall second hand. I've used it twice.

Today I went to use it and it seems that the Operation Lever is only partially functional. For example, the 'up' direction is barely functional. In VTR mode I could only get it to play twice in the 15 minutes or so of playing around with it and trying to make it play. the 'right', 'left' and 'down' function seem to be ok, although i think not 100%. This is a bit of a pain in the butt. Not only can I not play back footage on the camera, in camera mode if I change a setting that requires to push the 'down' funtion of the operation lever, I can't change it back because I can't get it to recognize up.

Has anyone had any problems with their operation lever? How can I fix it?

thnx

That's something to fix at the repair center...

I ended up getting some switch cleaner, and it totally worked!

It was a $6, 10 minute fix. I guess the switch just got a little dirty. I did end up disassembling the switch assembly, which was really easy, just to give it a thorough cleaning.
