Shot Letterbox, but intended was 4:3 needed output... how do i fix in post?

I shot interviews using the letterbox setting on my dvx100b... I did not realize. I need the output to be normal (4:3) with no letterbox black bars. I have room on the right and left margins for cutting as well --- I also need the image to be the highest professional quality... what do i do in capturing or post to correct? thanks!

You zoom in with the scale tab in your NLE and chop off edges- i.e. panning and scanning. Quality is going to take a rather serious hit though- not much you can do about that as you're literally blowing up the frame by almost 1/3 to get past the black bars...
