I am editing a project shot on a Panasonic AG-DVX100B. The tapes were shot in letterbox mode at 30 fps. This is not the look I am going for as the final output is going to be a DVD. There is some bad interlacing going on as well. What would be the best way to fix the interlacing. I tryed using a de-interlacing filter from nattress but it didn't seem to do what I need. Any suggestions.

Also is there a way to remove the letterbox look or will that make the footage look even worse as I suspect you could zoom and crop.

I am using Final Cut Pro 6 and a Mac Pro Quad Core. Firewire 400 for capture from camera.

Thank You!

What do you mean fix the interlacing? If it was shot 60i ~ 29.97 then it's supposed to be interlaced. If you want to have it film looked- use nattress.com's 24p making G-Film.
