Using P2 CMS to pre format P2 card
on Nov 10, 2011 at 8:34:44 pm

I've read Barry Green's HVX book. I understand there is a way to use P2CMS to pre set metadata onto a P2 card before a shoot to assist logging, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out from the instructions that come with. Can anyone help. Shoot Monday, nov 14 a.m.

In P2CMS go to Tool/Metadata Upload. Enter in as much information as you want. Save to SD Memo. Load the SD card in your camera and Load Metadata. It's that simple.

Steve thanks for the reply. WE are close to understanding this process.
Our goal is to have the individual video clips with our special name (1,2,3,) show up in the finder window once transferred to an external Hard drive not the camera generated name.

Are we asking for to much or is this possible?

Were is there an English step by step cheat sheet on how to do this. We have Barry's book.

Use p2cms to view the clips, and the userclipname should show up.

They camera MXF files will never be renamed.

User clip name is in metadata only.
