I have a Panasonic AG-HVX200 and looking to record a time lapse sequence.
Can anyone tell me what settings I should turn on in the camera?

Chris, when I get to the interval time screen, it says 2f to the right, should I be able to go into that and change that 2f to something else? It's no allowing me to do that. Have any ideas?

Well the 2f is the default, if you cannot change that then you need to make sure you are set up correctly to interval record.

Did you select interval record?
Are you in 720 record mode?

I am in 720p, and do I go under recording set up first? then listed is interval time. is this correct?

I believe so yes, I don't have the cam in front of me.
Choose interval recording.

I still cannot get to that setting. Is there a step by step process somewhere, the manual is no real help.

Do the following:

1. Scene File - Set Operation Type to Video Camera

5. Recording Setup - Set Recording Format to 720P/60P

5. Recording Setup - Set Rec Function to Interval

5. Recording Setup - Set Interval Time

You need to do the math to figure out the best interval time. It depends on how fast you want it to play back.

You got me. I'm not sure why yours is not working. Mine works fine. My menus is as follows:

Rec Format
480i Record Mode
Rec Function
One Shot Time
Interval Time
Etc.

The menu selection you want is INTERVAL TIME. Is it possible that you are looking at ONE SHOT TIME?

The above information was very helpful. Would you set your camera to auto iris and shutter?

For time-lapse you want to be in Manual Iris.
You cannot adjust the iris once recording has begun.
Well, you can, all you want, but the results will not be favorable.
Shutter doesn't matter so much. Follow the 180 rule and you'll be fine.

Thank you. Now, I have to wait for the haze and dust to clear.

Hmmmm, I pulled out our P2 and have the same problem. Most options are colored in blue and non-editable. I'll poke around and let you know what I find.

The solution for the locked blue menu options was already mentioned above. Make sure the Scene File is set to Video Camera not Film Camera.

1. Scene File - Set Operation Type to Video Camera

Thanks From LV, this is exactly what I was looking for and it worked like a charm. Like the bleow post says, make sure you do step 1 and set the operation to video camera, not film camera.

Thanks again!
Pat
