Making DVD's of P2 Footage

Trying to figure out how to make DVD's of P2 footage with FCP. Shane if you read this, sadly they are set on having a playable DVD and not into the quicktime files.

I have a sequence in FCP with all the footage. Can I just break it up into sequences small enough for DVD and just export that way?

thanks!

Export a reference movie, open Compressor, use a DVD setting that suits your needs, open DVDSP and make a DVD.

Have a capture card? Real time output to a DVD recorder. Faster than encoding one.

Hi there,

Slightly different question... Is there a way to "dump" P2 footage (original footage, i.e. MXF files) onto DVD? My client wants to see "all the footage". And I'd rather not log and transfer 19 hours of raw footage into FCP.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Megan

[Megan Evans] "s there a way to "dump" P2 footage (original footage, i.e. MXF files) onto DVD? My client wants to see "all the footage"."

Only if you are shooting with 4GB cards (DVDs hold 4.7GB) and the have the means to view the MXF files natively on their end.

Or, get Proxymill (http://www.imagineproducts.com) and it will make a bunch of small QT movies with timecode (QT setting of your choosing) so that you can burn those to a data DVD and hand that to them.
