Something very strange is happening with my camera. When I put a battery in it auto starts recording. The start/stop button does not respond. This is when using p2 cards. In tape would it will not start. I tried press reset button but it still does same thing.

Power down completely and disconnect power for 2 hours.

Then switch to Wall Power and see what happens...]]if persists.... recommend sending in or service

Hmm seems not to work. I went to panasonic.com but cannot find phone/contact to send product to. It looks like a consumer and not professional site. Didn't even find the HVX200 camera on site.

Someone in the forum may have had similar experience and has advice, but as far as finding "phone/contact to send product to"--

I typed "panasonic p2 camera" into Google and got this:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=panasonic+p2+camera&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10

and clicked the first result which was this:

http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/home.asp

on which you can click "support" and get this:

http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/support/

and you're well on your way to getting some good info or contacts to get to the bottom of what's going on.
