Audio problems when imported to FCP
on May 24, 2009 at 5:05:17 pm

Hi

I shot on the HVX200,at 24pn, on 7 different p2 cards (6 16gig, one 32gig).
My footage and audio all plays fine in the Log and Transfer window.
Once I import the footage to FCP, on many of the clips the audio plays sped up and out of sync, and there is an underlying clicking sound.

It's definitely relative to the P2 cards- all the audio from one P2 card is fine, whereas all the audio from another P2 card is garbled as I described above. I don't understand why some cards would be fine and others problematic. However, some were offloaded through the camera and some were offloaded through a P2 store device, if that could be an explanation. (As I said though, it all plays fine in the Log and transfer window)

In the Log and Transfer window, the column on the far left, to the left of the 'Name' column, contains the 'Media Map' circle that fills with blue once the clip is imported properly to FCP. The clips with audio that doesn't play properly in FCP have a circle that has only filled halfway- implying they have not fully imported. The clips with audio that does play properly have a full blue circle.

Any advice?
