HVX-200 and 16:9 SD for FCP
on May 16, 2009 at 1:48:06 am

I am having a videographer shoot a wedding for me that I will edit, I want them to shoot in 16:9 SD, I will edit it in FCP 6, my question is, can I just tell them to make sure they are shooting in 16:9 SD ? also when the finished product is viewed on a HD televison set, will the 16:9 fill the whole screen like HD ? do I change my presets for my timeline in FCP to DV NTSC anamorphic ? I know in DVD studio pro, I will use SD 16:9 when I author the DVD, thanks in advance :)

You might want to also specifiy the frame rate you want. I believe the 200 will shoot 60i, 24p or 30p.

I just did this a few days ago w/ the 200 In the Camera Setup menu there are three choices Normal, Letterbox & Squeeze. My original thought was to select letterbox. However, we ultimately went to the Squeeze setting, then in editing used the DV anamorphic. The Squeeze setting in the camera monitor looks 16x9 not squished.

Cheers,
