Shooting with HVX200, XHA1 and XL2: 1080 vs 720 & workflow issues in Final Cut
on Apr 19, 2009 at 6:28:27 pm

I have a shoot coming up with the Panasonic HVX200, Sony XHA1 and a Canon XL2. All three camera have a PS Technics 35mm Ground Glass adaptor. The director wishes to shoot 24P and is not really interested in HD look.

Since two of the cameras can shoot in 1080, and one in 720, I am trying to figure out how to approach the shoot so the post workflow is easier.

The editor will be cutting in Final Cut and to down convert and up convert is going to be a nightmare for this editor. This piece will never go to film or be projected.

Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,
Lena
