24pa interpreted as 29.97..why?

Hi, I recently bought a HVX200 and am new to the workflow. I recorded at 24pa, intending to work in 24fps in Adobe. My project file is set at 24fps, the camera was set at 24pa. When I import the footage, AE and Premiere interpret the footage as 29.97. Dragging that footage to the timeline, it appears interlaced.

If I want to work in 24fps, how do I get it to correctly interpret the footage from my camera? If I change the frame rate the footage is interpreted at to 24fps, I'm worried the audio might be off.

Any help? Thanks!

The following blurb is from the HVX200 Overview portion of Panasonic's own web site:

"Supports 1080/60i, 1080/24p, 1080/24pA, 1080/30p, 720p/60p, 720/24p (over 60p), 720/30p (over 60p), 720/24pN native, 720/30pN native 480/60i, 480/24p (over 60i), 480/24pA (over 60i), 480/30p (over 60i)"

So you'd have to find a way to remove the pulldown. Like you, I'm still learning about the camera.

In Premiere select the clip, right click > interpret footage and remove 24P DV pulldown.
