Using HVX AS a light meter?

Im doing a shoot with a friend today with my HVX and an Arri 16mm film camera, but he called me this morning and said everything is ready and he doesnt have a light meter, because we can use the HVX as one?? Anyone know how to go about this>

DOESN"T have a light meter? Dude, that is standard equipment when shooting film. Without that, you are hosed. Do not shoot.

No, you cannot use the HVX as a light meter. There are no settings for the film ASA you are using, plus the lens on the camera is not a FILM lens, it is a VIDEO lens, so the F-stop will not match. Plus, you need to use the T-Stop anyway.

Gotta go get a light meter. I have one...needs a battery. Hasn't seen use in 10 years...but it is a great old light meter.
