P2 Import to FC Studio in Leopard

Guys,

I'm running a G5 with Leopard 10.5.4, FCS 6.0.4, and I can't import P2 media into it. I've downloaded software previously from Panasonic which supposedly allows FC to recognize P2 cards or media folders, but dang if my system can see it. It doesn't even come up as a choice in the Import menu, like it does on my older PPC G5 running FC Pro 5.x...can't remember.

Anyway, if someone can shine a little light on this, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for your time.

Hmm...feeling a little stupid. :) Works perfectly. Thanks so much. In response to your question, the card does show up as a drive, but when I looked for P2 as an option under Import, it refused to show up no matter what I did.

Perhaps I'll read the entire manual next time. In the immortal words of Leonard McCoy..."I love engineers - they LOVE to change things."

Thanks, again.

Sorry to butt in here but-

In all honesty? Throw down for a PCD20 (or wait for the PCD30). It is by far the best nad most convenient I have used. You will need AC power, though.

Jeremy,

The PCD20 is a target, right after the Kona 3 card and the Betacam SD to SDI convertors, and the big 8 drive raid 5 ......

I wait for the big jobs to show up to purchase, one big item (over 1,ooo-1,5000 bucks),

but if the item is under 500, i will suffer the visa charges for a couple months...

So I am trying to stay under 500, and it plugs into the desk top Mac Pro..

Has the specs on the PCD30 been released?

Thanks, Jeremy. I'm just dumping it down through the firewire connection. Think I'll take your advice and wait for the 30.

Hi Nate,

I'm just going through the firewire port. Haven't needed the speed of a dedicated reader yet, but Jeremy has some good suggestions.

To all who have posted, thanks for your help. :)
