I have a question that will be very easy for you all probably. Is the HVX-200 capable of shooting in the more compressed HDV format? I know the major advantage of this camera over its competition is that is can record in true HD, but can it also record in the MPEG compressed HDV? I haven't been able to find that yet in reviews.

This is a concern to me due to sometimes wanting high def, but not needing all that extra data being eaten up for the project due to lower standard of quality for the finished product (such as if it will be going up on the web). Also wondering if that could extend the recording time on the P2 when the utmost quality isn't necessary.

Thanks.

Nope- it's DVCPROHD only.

But if you're just going to the web you could shoot SD at 25 mbit

My client wants HDV tapes, and all I have is Pansonic HVX200.
What is my easiest way around?
