can someone explain as to why and in which instances we use Blank Keyframes? I know how to insert them and I know what they are but I cannot understand the purpose or use of them and they seem to be very prominent in most projects. Please advise.
Thanks in advance
Say I have a button on layer 3 of 5. It's visible for the first 10 frames, then not visible for the next ten, then visible again after that. The blank keyframe on frame 11 deletes that button from the layer. The keyframe on frame 21 allows it to come back.
Think of it another way. I put a button on layer 3 of 5. On frame 10 I put a regular keyframe (not a blank one). Then I delete the button on frame 10. Assuming nothing else is on that layer, it turns to a blank keyframe. It just means nothing is on that layer until you get to another regular keyframe. Without having put the keyframe on frame 10, deleting the button deletes it on all 10 frames. I hope that makes sense.
Yes that is essentially it. No content in the frame = blank frame. The frame exists but just void of information. Without them, the previous frame could go on forever if I stretched out my frames to such.
