Importing Video and Publishing for FTP Upload -- Flash CS6
on Jun 12, 2013 at 7:37:12 pm

(Running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon)

I was using Flash CS3 to import my videos and publish for FTP upload and it all worked fine. My steps were the following:

- Open Flash
-Select "Create New Flash File (Action Script 3.0)
-Press Command R for importing to stage
-Select my video file that I have exported from FCP as a QuickTime (Size 600x338)
-Press Continue to and then select "Progressive Download from a web server"
-Leave all settings as default
-Select my skin and then press continue
-Then flash converts the file and places it on the stage and I select publish and then have all the files I need to upload to FTP

In Flash CS6 the process is a bit different. My steps are the following:

- Open Flash
-Select "Create New Flash File (Action Script 3.0)
-Press Command R for importing to stage
-Select my video file that I have exported from FCP as a QuickTime (Size 600x338)
-Select "launch adobe media encoder"
-then i change my settings to a lower bitrate (400) and convert
-I import the file to the stage in Flash and then publish

When I upload the files to my FTP and then play in a browser it sometimes works, always takes a long time to load, and most of the time just gives me a blank screen with the green striped loading bar.

I don't understand why it is not working in CS6 but works easily in CS3......Anybody have any ideas?

Much appreciated. Let me know if you need more clarification.
