I am having trouble figuring out how to get my .swf that contains an .flv to have a relative path so that i can sent it to the server and have it play. it seems like i am missing something as this is so basic. what can i do?

I'm presuming that you're using the FLVPlayback component. If so, select the playback component on your stage and under the Properties panel, look at Component Parameters, and you'll find "source" there. It'll probably be prefilled with some absolute address like "C:\projects\myMoviePlayer\videos\myMovie.mp4."

You can put a relative path instead like "videos/myMovie/myMovie.mp4" and it'll look (from the location of the swf) in the myMovie folder in the videos folder for myMovie.mp4.
