Annoyingly important issue with Flash CS5 publishing
on Aug 1, 2012 at 5:13:40 pm

I created a flash presentation-type project for my company a while back, and didn't have any problems with it. But today i had to make a few changes, and now it wont' publish.

It starts the process, gets between 60-70% finished but then just sits for a while and then stops. No errors, nothing. Thing is I was able to export this earlier. The FLA file is about 179MB. I have no idea why this isn't working, and have been able to find 0 help via online searches so far.

Can anyone offer some insight or a work around for this? Anything would be IMMENSELY beneficial.

Would it be possible to skip the publish and instead just create the SWF? If you are publishing to SWF and HTML, the HTML you had before will still work so long as the SWF filename remains the same. Just do a CTRL-ENTER to "test" your project. If your flash file opens, it will have created a new SWF in your working directory (where the FLA is stored). Then put that SWF in the same directory as the HTML and it should work. If it doesn't, you can edit the HTML and look for references to the filename (I think there are four references) and either change the filename of your swf to match, or change the references in the HTML.

Of course, this is all assuming that you're publishing swf and html.
