On mouse over, play MC, on mouse out, reset to button layer
on Dec 29, 2010 at 9:14:30 am

Hello,
I am trying to create a button in Actionscript 3 that, when rolled over, plays a movie clip (jumps to frame 5 and loops) on the timeline. When the cursor rolls off the clip, I need the .swf to reset to where it started, on the (static) button layer (which is frames 1-4 on the timeline). I am having the button go to another page on mouse click; I just want the button to animate when the cursor rolls over it, and reset when the user rolls off.

here is my code:

this.buttonMode = true;

this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER,function():void {
gotoAndPlay("WEb_MC")
}
);

this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT,function():void {
gotoAndStop("WEb_btn")
}
);

here is teh error I get:

ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label WEb_MC not found in scene Scene 1.
at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndPlay()
at MethodInfo-1()
ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label WEb_btn not found in scene Scene 1.
at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop()
at MethodInfo-2()

I greatly appreciate any assistance. I am very new to AS3 and may be in over my head.
