exporting video to swf
on Nov 15, 2010 at 3:45:25 pm

Hello, I have a client that is asking for a video as an swf file. We produced the video for him and I have exported videos as flv files but never as an swf file. I'm not a web guy but what I understand about swf files is that they trigger the flv file to play in a flash player. Am I correct or is there a way to export a video as an swf file? Can anyone help me better understand swf files so I can pass it on to my client.

Thank you!

There are a myriad of software programs out there that will convert various video formats to SWF files. However, unless the video is only a few seconds long, this is an extremely inefficient way to handle it. More than likely they want you to create a SWF, which is the output format of Flash, which will then in turn act as a player for an external video file, either in H.264 or FLV format.
