First I should say I am not too well versed with Flash, but we are just trying to create a simple auto launch video for playback on windows. We have encoded the video with Encoder and have it on a flash stage and exported both windows and mac projector files. The mac file works just fine on the creator computer. Using a .inf file the windows projector file auto launches just fine, but the window is just blank. I am sure I am missing something basic, but have tried it using CS3 and CS4 with same results. Anyone have any suggestions on what to check? Ultimately we want the video to play and then launch a web page...
You know that the exe file (and the Mac projector file) do not contain the flv / mp4 video, but call it from a location specified in your fla file. On the creator machine, the video will be where it always was - easy to find. On any other machine, this won't be the case unless you make it happen.
An easy approach is to have the video file in the same folder as your fla and your published swf. Then make sure that you include the video (flv / mp4, whatever file extension you have) along with your exe and any other swf (if you are using a built-in video player, the "skin" or controls will likely be in a separate swf file, which you also need to include in the clutch of files you distribute.
Thanks for the reply. I am on a mac, attempting to produce a windows projector file. I was under the impression that the media was actually contained in the projector file itself. We are trying to create an autolunching usb thumbdrive using. On our test machine the a window opens, but with no media. You are saying that we need to have the media and the projector file on the thumbdrive, yes?
