I'm working on a project in Flash CS4 and I've got a part where I'm using the "glow" effect to put a sort of white halo around an object. The problem is, is that I want to have that halo smoothly grow over the course of about 30 frames (at 30 fps) and the action is far from smooth. What happens is that about 50% of the glow affect happens over the initial 29 frames and then the very last frame the glow "jumps" 50% in brightness. I want the effect to come on gradually and am bothered by this jump that happens on the very last frame of the tween. Is there anything that can be done about this? I might add that I've messed with the easing in and out and that doesn't seem to have any effect.
i would really suggest to not use the built in glow filter, but to use TweenLite by greensock ( http://www.greensock.com/tweenlite/ ) and have the effect happen over time, rather than over frames. you will experience a much better, smooth effect that way.
