Control FLVPlayback component
on Jul 11, 2010 at 12:15:43 am

Hello people,

Let me start by saying that I have a F4V animation that I'm going to use as a navigation for a website.

Before I started using F4V over FLV I had the option to embed my animation into the timeline. I don't have that possibility with F4V. The reason I switched over to F4V had to do with the poor quality of FLV.

After this switch I'm facing new problems. I don't know how to control a FLVPlayback component with AS2. Controlling an embedded animation is much easier because you are controlling the timeline, e.g.:

var mouseListener:Object = new Object();
mouseListener.onMouseWheel = function(delta) {
if(delta [smaller] 0) {
play();
}
if(delta [bigger] 0) {
gotoAndPlay(32);
}
}
Mouse.addListener(mouseListener);

Can anyone give me tips about controlling a FLVPlayback component? I've spent many hours on the internet about this, but I still can't figure it out.

I hope I gave you enough information to solve my problem. I'm using CS5 on Windows 7.

Cheers, Esmer
