Flash CS5 and those long-a** javascripts
on Jun 15, 2010 at 6:30:01 pm

I just got Flash CS5 and after publishing my first .swf I noticed that there wasn't any javascript in the head of the html file it produced. I never knew what all that stuff did but I just assumed it needed to be there. What's going on? Does a Flash movie need that script or no? Before CS4 the published html's would include a link to external javascript and it would also provide that as well. I thought maybe CS5 was going back to that way of working but there's nothing.

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Are those Javascripts needed? What do they do anyway? Is there a new Publish setting I need to check when publishing to get those scripts? Could you let me know where I could go to find out this stuff on my own?

Sorry if it's a dumb question. I've been using Flash since, I dunno, the mid 90s? but I've always just used it for animation and such and am not really into the developer bit.

Thanks for any help.
