What is Screen Video 2?
on May 27, 2010 at 9:26:47 pm

I have a huge video (about 1.5 hours long) that I encoded using On2 FLV. To further reduce the size, it's being suggested that I use the Flash encoder, Screen Video 2.

A Google search didn't render any results, so please help.

They are referring to this wikipedia list [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Video#Codec_support], but that tells me nothing about which app to use to find it.

I have

Flash Pro CS5
Compressor (FCS 3)
Squeeze 6
iVideo Converter
Adobe Media Encoder

Thanks in advance!

I don't what that is but I would encode to an H.264 file, either f4v, mp4, m4v, mov. Much smaller better quality.

h.264 in my preferred codec, but when someone requests a codec, what can I do?

Are there any restrictions for the user if I insist on delivering an alternative? I know that Flash can play h.264 now, so maybe I can make a case for it.

In my test thus far, the flv, f4v and mp4 rendered at larger sizes than the source footage, and that's with low settings. Hmm.

Okay, so I found a "Screen Cap" codec in Squeeze 6. It's a mp4 option, so I'll take this question to another thread.

Thanks!
