I'm an absolute newbie in the world of flash and I'd love to learn more. I am willing to look through every tutorial I can find and read up as much as possible...but I need to know if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
Can anyone tell me if this home page was done in Flash? The website is:
My church would like to create something similar to this look.
If you see anything interesting, right click on it (is it Ctrl + click on the Mac?), and if it says something like "About Flash Player 10" - well, it is certainly made with Flash!
You'll find tutorials and template files scattered all over the web. There are also magazines which will walk you through creating things exactly like this.
Please note the much stuff on the web is actually for the previous version of the Flash scripting language, AS2. Many still use this, but AS3 is the more future proof.
You may opt to dive into the free stuff at random, but I actually recommend taking a course at http://www.lynda.com or http://www.totaltraining.com - why not get it right from the start? The outlay will save you hours, days and weeks later. My favourite tutorial site is probably http://www.gotoandlearn.com - but many of the things there may be too advanced for a beginnner.
